MUSIC NEWS

A fair few musicans and creative types have been through the Broadway Youth doors over the years. Here's a little round up of the latest that some of them are up to:

You should already know that Simon Dwight (Youth Alpha Sunday leader and star of last October's All-nighter DVD) fronts the Park Race. Have a looksie at their latest youtube upload below, it's a lovely slice of indie/alternative pop gold. If you like guitar music you're in for a treat:

They have some live dates coming up, visit their Myspace page for details and to listen to more of their songs.

If Hip hop is your dish of the day the good news is that The Zang Productions family are busy too.

Rob Blakeney's voice will be familiar to anyone who's has visited Free* Cafe' as he is one third of University of the King, whose last two albums we play on a virtually constant loop. Rob has launched a new Myspace profile for his expirimental solo project Grey Beard. Click here to have a look for yourself. The page features a couple of songs you can listen which sound quiet different from his last solo album 'Arctic Village Beaver'. Be sure to add it to your friends list and keep watching for updates. To my mind a leaky radiator would be worth a listen if it was produced by the Zang lot, such is their combined creative genius and catchey pop sensibility. Not that Grey Beard sounds like a leaky radiator.....next!

Staying in the world of Hip Hop and University of the King solo projects, Dave Blower has a new album coming out later this year. If you heard Dave's previous solo album you'll know why this is a big deal. The album, 'It's raining glass and tears' was an edgey, brooding and angry beast of a record, full of uncomfortable and uncomprimising insights into life in Britian since the Romans nicked off. Click here to visit his Myspace profile or here to have a goggle at his website. If the'manifesto' and 'visions' pages on the site are anything to go by then the new album will take things even further.
You'll also notice that Dave has changed the name of his solo out put from 'Beloved' to 'Benjamin Blower', it's always nice to see another Son of the Right Hand!

And now ladies and gentlemen,
if you like your music with a bit more shouting and some proper scarry faces then why not go crazy for Rob and Luke Lehane in:

Bringer of Dark and Light

The boys are working on an album for this year, a live set, an acoustic live set, stroof Rob is even availible for guitar tuition so I hear. Click here to visit their Myspace profile to find out more and see more photos of them in make up.
Nice!
